Self-Care Routines for Quarantine


If you’re not someone working during this time, you may find that you have extra hours during the day where you are bored. Your sleep routine may be way off, you watch TikToks for hours on end, and your overall productivity is pretty low. During our regular lives, we are always busy and now we are given this golden opportunity to take care of ourselves. We must take full advantage of this! If you haven’t already, we are here to help give you tips to show yourself some love during this time.

First, you should be working out at least a couple times a week. Since you’re mostly at home your body is barely moving and it really wants to! Breaking a sweat will feel amazing, fill up some time in your day, and help clear your head for a bit. Lots of fitness apps are having free trials or there are amazing workouts all over Youtube. Find one you like and give it a try!


Next, you have to find time to fully relax an destress. There are tons of ways to do this step. One thing I find extremely relaxing is taking a nice bath. Playing some calm music and just enjoying the water completely relaxes my body. Also there are apps, I really like Headspace, that are full of different mindfulness and meditation activities. They only take anywhere from 5-20 minutes depending on what you want to do. If you’re a student, you can get access to all the activities on the app for just $10 for the whole year!


This is also a great time to take care of your mind and all that happens in there. Use this time to reflect in any form you like, perhaps writing. Write about what has gone on in the past, what you want to do in the future and more. If writing isn’t your style you could do the opposite and read. Learn about something you know nothing about and try to gain some skills.

Lastly, you can do some fun self-care. Some ideas for this are face masks, painting nails, trying new hairstyles, different ways to do your make-up. Anything you can think of to give yourself a fresh style or just experiment with things you’ve wanted to try but never had the chance.
